"What's In Your Hand?" - $895

During the online April Art Daily 2015 online I hosted, 

I personally challenged myself to create a "hand" block daily using various approaches along with hand dyed or batik fabric.
I blogged daily of my adventure not having a specific plan of what to do with the blocks.
It was so much fun researching "hand" formations and choosing numerous techniques.
I chose to combine them into this approximately 32 inch X 32 inch Wall Art .

Techniques included hand painted fabrics, screen fiber, hand embroidery, hand applique'. Machine quilted. Hanging sleeve makes easy to hang.

 2nd photo is the "Hand" label on the back of the Wall Art.

The title comes from something Basket Artist, Matt Tommey often asks artists, "What is In Your Hand?" meaning what has God already given you to work with?

is the featured verse on this wall quilting that I pieced

using my Free Style Cobblestone method

using only gleaned hand dyed fabric strips.

With hopes to adopt 2 foster children , word came of a distant relative considering taking the children. Both children desired adoption by us. Simultaneously, our pastor began a series "30 Days To Live" with accompanying daily devotionals. What a month of trusting God and creating "Teach Us To Number Our Days". Hand dyed, painted and rusted fabrics are puzzled together in artist's Free Style Cobblestones similarly as God had uniquely & temporarily added to our family. The children are still with us although at this time, they are still not available to adopt. Hand quilted providing much prayer time.

And "extra" hand dyed Free Style Cobblestone

 in the same color way as the hand sewn binding

makes for a nice label.

"Heritage Stars" - $440

With it's beginnings in an Ami Simms workshop,
we were challenged to
be bold and courageous with color, stepping
 beyond our normal comfort zone of fabric combinations.
These stars were strip pieced in a fun arrangement
utilizing the remnants for the border.
Hand quilted.
